• The Kid Tech Area of the Children?s Library provides computers for the recreation and education of our youngest library patrons and their parents.  Children under the age of 5 must be supervised by a parent or guardian when using library computers.
  • Family Friendly Computers for ages 5-17 and Adults provide filtering to protect children, and others, from possibly accessing inappropriate material.  Youth under 18 years of age will be required to use Family Friendly computers.
  • No filtering software can control access to all materials that an individual may deem inappropriate.   Parents should instruct children in the Rules for Online Safety recommended by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
  • Free wireless Internet access is available during library operation hours via patron?s own personal laptops.  No time limit; minimal staff assistance.
  • It is the Library?s policy that parents or legal guardians are responsible for deciding what library resources are appropriate for their children.  Parents may feel some resources are inappropriate for their children.  Parents should let their children know if there are materials which they do not want them to use.  Parents should supervise their children?s Internet sessions.
  • BPL?s eLearning for children provide reliable information supporting literacy learning, homework help and other interests.  These resources are available to library card holders.
