Bentonville Public Library is proud to be beloved by the community! We welcome a daily average of 700 visitors, and patronage is growing at a rate faster than the region's population. Unfortunately, such high numbers means our public parking lot fills up quickly. We understand this is a frustration for many, and we are taking steps toward solutions within our capabilities. As Bentonville continues to grow, we ask patrons to consider the following:
- Make a plan in advance.
- Consider other locations you might want to visit in the downtown area, including Bentonville History Museum, Two Friends Bookstore at 8th Street Market, or Walmart Neighborhood Market.
- Avoid the library's peak traffic times such as:
- Tuesday through Thursday mornings (Storytime is very popular).
- Weekday afternoons (after school lets out).
- (During Summer) Monday through Friday 11:00 am to 1:00 pm (free lunch program for kids)
- Large attendance Events.
- Allow ample time for finding a parking spot.
- Consider parking in a more distant lot and walking, biking, and using Ozark Regional Transit Route 17.
- ORT Fixed Routes are free, accessible, and even have bike racks!
- Route 17 drops off/picks up at the library approximately every 1 hour and 20 minutes for return trips. (Most other stops can be reached from library pick-up within 20 minutes.)
- Use Passio GO! to for current updates on Route 17, including stop times, delays, and capacity.
- Use an app like Citymapper to help you navigate by foot, scooter/bike, bus, and car efficiently.
- If you need accommodations, please consult ORT Paratransit Guide.
- Wear appropriate clothing that will keep you safe and provide comfort during current weather conditions.
- Plan for transporting library materials safely and in comfort.
- Stay hydrated and consider bringing snacks!
