- What is the BPL Tech Card program?
A library program that promotes digital and information literacy skills, directing users to reputable resources for academic success. Tech Cards can be used during classroom lessons, independent study or project work at home.
- Where do I get my BPL Tech Card?
NEW for 2020! For Bentonville Schools - students will use their school-assigned ID#.
For other schools & agencies - cards are distributed through school librarians, teachers and/or at school orientation events.
For College, a select number of cards are issued for the Adult Education Center.
- Can students use the BPL Tech Card at home?
Absolutely! In fact, we encourage students to use their cards at home for assistance with project work. Students can also access downloadable materials, such as eBooks, audiobooks, music and more with their Tech Cards.
- How do students access resources?
Students can access Bentonville Public Library resources on our Student Portal.
Enter the 9-digit student ID (Bentonville Schools) or 14-digit Tech Card barcode number and generic PIN (1234), when required.
NOTE: Traveler resources may require city, zip code and telephone number. Please use school's telephone number during class sessions.

- What if library cards are lost?

- Can students check out materials from BPL?
Tech cards are not for borrowing physical materials. Library cards are free to Benton County residents, and BPS staff, with valid proof of identification & residency.

Funding the Program
Digital resources are supported by the Bentonville Public Library and the Arkansas State Library.
- BPL's investment is valued at more than $78,000 annually.
- The State Library's Traveler database project is funded through the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) and is valued at over $844,000 annually.
BPL's Tech Card program is implemented in partnership with the Bentonville Public Schools.
Sponsorships and grants to the Bentonville Library Foundation have helped fund BPL's Tech Card program, including support from the Walmart ROC Team and the Walmart Foundation Volunteerism Always Pays (VAP) program.
