BPL Makerspace presents... Art Fight!
Welcome to the BPL Art Fight page where you'll learn all about Art Fight, how to register, and how to battle fellow artists.
What is Art Fight?
Art Fight is an annual art game for ages 13 through adult for the month of July!
Artists can register during or before the fight to join in. Each year, participants are split into two themed teams!
Players "attack" people of the opposing team by making art of original characters you choose belonging to members of the other team.
You are free to use almost any visual art form! (See Attack Rules section of the rules).
Your team receives points based on what you create for the other team with each attack.
The artist that receives the attack can then counter that attack by drawing the character belonging to the person who attacked them or pay it forward by attacking a different person on the other team.
If you're on the same team as another user, don't worry! You can still attack them. This is commonly referred to as Friendly Fire.
At the end of the month, the team with the greater score wins!
While there are point scores, Art Fight's goal is to celebrate characters, encourage giving back to fellow creators, and create a positive environment where artists of all skill levels can participate and make art for one another!

Makerspace Resources and Drop-Ins!
The Makerspace is here for your Making needs! Whatever your medium, we’re able to provide tools, equipment, and space. We also often have creatives in the room to give advice and problem solve.
Tools you can find in the Makerspace include but are not limited to:
- iPads w/ active styluses and creative software like Procreate, Nomad Sculpt, and ToonSquid
- Laptops w/ Wacom One drawing tablets and creative software like Krita, FireAlpaca, and Blender
- Prismacolor colored pencils
- Watercolor and acrylic paints
- Sewing and Embroidery machines
- Air dry clay
- Laser Engravers and 3D Printers (classes required for respective machines)
Check out our Events page for Art Fight Drop-In times where you can meet with other Art Fight participants IRL. Makerspace 101 is not required during drop-in times. To use the Makerspace outside of drop-in times, please complete Makerspace 101.
Drop-Ins are hosted in the Makerspace and include the following day/times:
- Tuesday, July 7 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm
- Thursday July 9 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm
- Tuesday, July 14 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm
- Thursday, July 17 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm
- Tuesday, July 21 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm
- Thursday, July 30 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm
