Bentonville Public Library is committed to collaborating with area educators to build a community of readers.  The Library offers a variety of resources to assist educators with curriculum support, enrichment activities and more.   If you are an educator in the Bentonville Public School District, you are eligible for a free library card at BPL. Field Trips to the Library

All field trips to the Library are free of charge and designed to meet grade-appropriate curriculum frameworks for grades K-12.   All field trips include a tour with a behind-the-scenes look at the circulation process. Librarian Visits to your School

BPL is happy to visit your daycare, preschool, or K-12 school. All librarian visits are free of charge and designed to meet age-appropriate curriculum standards.

Planning a public event for students and parents?  BPL will gladly host an information booth to promote our services to local families when scheduling allows. Submit a request here.

 

eLearning

BPL provides access to hundreds of databases, streaming services, and other digital resources through the Student Portal on our website. All students and educators must have a Library Card or Tech Card to access most of these resources. 

SORA

The Sora reading app gives K-12 students one-tap access to ebooks, audiobooks, Read-Alongs, magazines and more on any device, at any time, using their school credentials. Through Bentonville Public Library Tech Card program or students’ student ID#, Bentonville Schools students have access to SORA. 

Reading Challenges

Help instill a love of reading by connecting kids to Library-sponsored Reading Challenges. We have several ongoing and seasonal Reading Challenges with prizes, events, and more. 

Book Club Kits

We have Book Club Kits for Young Adult and Middle-Grades that include 10 books, discussion questions, author biography, title summary, read-alike suggestions, food suggestions, and games and activities.

Reading Recommendations Through NoveList Plus

NoveList Plus is a book recommendation resource that combines the expertise of librarians with technology to create the ultimate resource in book recommendations. NoveList Plus features include"

Library Cards and Tech Cards

Many educators in area public and private schools are eligible for a free library card at BPL. This provides access to all print and digital materials as well as our on-site amenities. 

Many students in area public and private schools are eligible for a Student Tech Card which gives them access to digital resources found in our Student Portal.

Request Materials for Classroom Use

Educators are encouraged to reach out to BPL about items to use in the classroom. Library staff works with educators to carefully select books, audiobooks, movies, discovery kits, and more, based on requested criteria, such as specific titles, subject areas, grade, reading level, and type of material. Still can’t find what you’re looking for? Educators can Suggest a Purchase on our website or, if it’s more urgent or a large purchase, work with our Youth Services Library Staff to coordinate a purchase.

Interlibrary Loan

Can’t find what you’re looking for? Our Interlibrary Loan gives you access to Arkansas and nation-wide library collections.

Meeting Space

BPL offers a variety of open and private spaces from 1-250 people to provide patrons with the perfect place to read, study, meet, celebrate, present, educate, and network. 

BPL is especially proud of private study and lounge areas reserved just for Youth and Teens, available first-come, first-served. Educators working with Youth can use this space for tutoring, club meetings, group projects, and more. 

BPL also provides free wifi, computer access (some with design and programming software), and low-cost printing and copying.

Makerspace

One of the best places at BPL is the Makerspace which features tools, equipment, software, and materials for limitless possibilities. Make games, tools, or signs for your classroom or schedule a time to use our space for team building and special projects.
