BPL Makerspace

BPL Makerspace offers tools, equipment, software, and materials for numerous hobbies, crafts, and mediums.

 

Who Can Use the Makerspace

BPL Makerspace is open for individual use to all BPL members who have met the following conditions:

  • Maker has updated their membership.
  • Maker has attended Makerspace 101 and signed the waiver. Makerspace 101 times can be found on our Events page.
  • If Maker is under the age of 18, they must have a guardian sign the waiver.
  • If Maker is under the age of 10, they must be accompanied by an adult who has also attended Makerspace 101.
  • Makerspace must have trained Library staff present (see hours below).

Hours

Monday  12:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Tuesday  10:00 am - 5:00 pm
Wednesday  10:00 am - 5:00 pm
Thursday  10:00 am - 5:00 pm
Friday  10:00 am - 4:00 pm (Open second, third, fourth, & fifth Friday of the month; closed First Friday of the month)
Saturday  10:00 am - 4:00 pm (Open first Saturday of the month; closed second, third, fourth, & fifth Saturday of the month)

Makerspace equipment is free to use; however, you will be expected to cover the cost of the following materials (all costs listed are at minimum quantities):

Classes and Events

Makerspace 101 features an orientation with our new Makerspace, the equipment we have available, and policies surrounding public use of the Makerspace. All patrons must go through Makerspace 101 before they are permitted to use the Makerspace.

Intro to 3D Printing provides an orientation for using the BPL Makerspace 3D printers, from creating files to printing your very own 3D model in class. All patrons must go through Intro to 3D Printing before they are permitted to use the 3D printers. You must take Makerspace 101 before you take Intro to 3D Printing.
